A teahouse at Arashiyama

Hozu River is viewed looking upstream from the northern riverbank at Arashiyama Hot Springs. The teahouse with a thatched roof has no walls, and the supporting pillars are visible. Yokohama Customs

The newly built Yokohama Customs Building, moved from the former location in 1885. The Prefecture Office moved into the old building. This is a typical Meiji-Period government building of symmetrical construction with a tower placed in the centre. The main gate of Shihan school

This is the front gate of National Nagasaki Normal School that had just been established in 1874. The former Nagasaki Bugyosho building on the left going through the gate and the newly built building on the right (the former governor’s residence) were the school buildings. In 1872 Tokyo Public Teachers College was established and thereafter teachers colleges were established across Japan. LTCB renames itself Shinsei Bank

TOKYO, Japan - Officials unveil a sign for newly renamed Shinsei Bank at its head office in Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward shortly before the 9 a.m. start of business June 5.
